On behalf of the Egypt Ice Hockey Board of Directors thank you for your support in establishing the Egyptian Ice Hockey Federation (EIHF).

Today with your help, we have a chance to make history. Back in 2002, a few local players began playing ice hockey at the Maadi Family Land ice rink we now call our headquarters. Without nets and barely any equipment, these players introduced Egypt to ice hockey for the first time. Quickly word spread and the sport grew. Club Teams were established, a regular time slot for the games was created and a tournament league formed. Currently, there are more than 150 ice hockey players playing in Egypt. Many more playing this beautiful sport in Canada, United States, Asia and all around Europe.

In February of 2016, after years of preparation, Egypt confounded the First African Ice Hockey Cup of Champions. The countries participating were; Tunisia, Algeria, Egypt and the host country Morocco. We intended to send 2 full teams, about 24 players playing for the Egypt Pharaohs and Cairo Anubis club team. Our plan was for our top players to compete on the Egypt Pharaohs club team. Unfortunately, due to a lack of support financially we are unable to send our best to compete against other nations. However, we didn't want to miss this historic tournament, the first of its kind on the African Continent. Instead of 24 players and two teams we could only afford to send 9 players to compete representing the Cairo Anubis Team. We were forced to leave some of our best players at home because they couldn’t afford to make the trip. This severely impacted our performance in the tournament.

In the last 18 months we have been featured on many television stations around the world including; iTV in the United Kingdom, Mehwar TV, OnTV, OnSportsTV in Egypt and Maroc Cinq in Morocco. We have established a social media campaign through Twitter: Egypticehockey, Instagram: Egypticehockey and a newly designed website www.egypticehockey.com. An Anubis Ice Hockey School was formed to train players of all ages at two different locations thought Cairo.

On September 10, 2016 we hosted the first Cairo Anubis vs. International Anubis exhibition match. Players from the USA and Canada played vs. our Local Team. The Match was held at our sister rink in Genena Mall. Over 200 spectators watched the 1.5 hour match. It was the most competitive Ice Hockey match ever played in Egypt.

In October 2016, our Egypt Ice hockey was accepted to be represented in the International Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto, Canada. This museum is the most popular hockey museum in the world with over 300,000 visitors’ annually. Proudly Egypt will now be represented with the best in history. Our long term plan after establishing an Ice Hockey Federation in Egypt will be to secure sponsors and eventually build an official size ice rink in Cairo. This pivotal step will allow us to get the program to the next level. With your support we will be able to plant the seeds in our youth to gain the skill and knowledge and truly build a competitive ice hockey program.

We have received an overwhelming amount of support from people around the world interested in purchasing jerseys and asking for interviews, so we believe now is the time to officially establish the Egyptian Ice Hockey Federation and carry that momentum into the next tournament.

يشرفنا دعمكم لنا في سبيل إنشاء الاتحاد المصري لهوكي الجليد. منذ عام 1910 عندما تم تشكيل اللجنة الأولمبية المصرية لم تشارك مصر في الحدث الأولمبي الشتوي العالمي سوى مرتين فقط برغم امتلاك مصر للمقومات التي تمكنها من المشاركة دورياً. و الآن قد جاء دورنا كفريق مصري في رياضة هوكي الجليد لنطور هذا الوضع و تغييره للأفضل بما يليق بعراقة مصر الرياضية و إمكانياتها و مواهب أبنائها. لدينا فرصة لصنع التاريخ سوياً. في عام 2002، بدأ عدد قليل من اللاعبين الهواة المصريين في لعب هوكي الجليد في حلبة التزلج على الجليد بمول معادي فاميلى لاند بجنوب القاهرة و هو ما يعتبر حاليأً المقر الرئيسي لقريق أنوبيس أول فريق مصري لرياضة هوكي الجليد. انتشرت هذه الرياضة الممتعة سريعاً و انشأت فرق مصرية للهواة و بطولة وطنية مصرية سنوية و هناك حالياً أكثر من 170 لاعب هوكي جليد في مصر سواء هاوي أو قد سبق له الاحتراف. في شهر فبراير 2016 قامت مصر بالتعاون مع الاتحاد المغربي الملكي لهوكي الجليد و بالتعاون مع الجزائر و تونس في إطلاق بطولة كأس أفريقيا الأولى لهوكي الجليد. و قد شاركت فرق من كل من مصر و المغرب و الجزائر و تونس. و لكن بسبب الصعوبات المالية لم تستطع مصر إرسال فريقين و تم الاكتفاء بفريق واحد فقط.

و قد تم دعوتنا للعديد من اللقاءات الصحفية و التليفزيونية سواء في الإعلام المصري أو الخارجي في قنوات مثل

أي تي في البريطانية و أون تي في المصرية و أون سبورت المصرية و قناة المملكة المغربية الخامسة.

و لدينا الآن اتفاق مع مصنع ملابس رياضية كندي صيني لتوفير الزي الرسمي للمشاركة في البطولات الدولية. و لدينا حاليأً مدرسة أنوبيس لهوكي الجليد لتدريب اللاعبين من مختلف الأعمار في القاهرة. و في أكتوبر 2016، تم تمثيل مصر و فريق أنوبيس في متحف هوكي الجليد بمدينة تورونتو بكندا و هو أشهر متحف لرياضة هوكي الجليد في العالم أجمع و ذلك عن طريق عرضهم لأدوات هوكي الجليد التي لعب بها اللاعبون المصريون في بطولة أفريقي الأولى عام 2016
